West Orange Robbery Suspect Captured on Video; Police Seek Public's Assistance

WEST ORANGE, NJ -  West Orange police need the public’s help locating and identifying a man suspected of burglarizing a Main Street restaurant. The incident is captured on surveillance video. Investigators believe the suspect is involved in approx. 150 other burglaries over a two-year span throughout the state.

A security camera captured the burglary to #1 Chinese Kitchen at 46 Main Street, which occurred at approximately 4:30am on November 18.

A black male entered the restaurant by smashing the lower portion of the glass front door and crawling through the opening. Once inside the establishment the actor removed a locked cash drawer, which was empty. Surveillance video revealed the actor was in the restaurant for approximately 15 minutes before exiting.

Suspect Description:

  • Black male
  • Approx. 5’8” to 6’ tall
  • Mid 30’s to early 40’s
  • Mustache and beard
  • Medium to heavy build
  • According to investigators, the suspect may have committed approximately 150 burglaries over the past two years throughout the state and is wanted by at least ten other police departments.
