PLAINFIELD, NJ - The Union County Homicide Task Force and the Plainfield Police Division are jointly investigating a homicide that took place Sunday night in Plainfield, acting Union County Prosecutor Grace H. Park announced Monday.
Officers responding to a report of shots being fired arrived at a residence on the 700 block of East Sixth Street in Plainfield at approximately 9:30 p.m. Sunday and located the homicide victim, Jose Disla-Cordero, 28, who had been fatally shot in his home.
An autopsy was scheduled for Monday morning. As of Monday afternoon no arrest had been made, nor had a motive been definitively established.
