Keller Williams Realty of Summit Donates Centerpieces to the New Providence Senior Center

NEW PROVIDENCE, NJ - While many senior citizens are often forgotten, Keller Williams Realty of Summit displayed the true holiday spirit of giving on Tuesday, Dec. 11, when they donated centerpieces to the New Providence Senior Center for their holiday dinner on Wednesday.

“It is a nice way to give back and it means so much to our local senior citizens,” said realtor Roxanne Giacalone, who started the project.

Giacalone, who serves on the New Providence Beautification Committee and gardens at home, said a few years ago she was trimming her shrubs and realized she could put the trimmings to good use. Therefore, she chose to create centerpieces for the seniors and give back to the community. Halls Garden Center in Berkeley Heights also donated clippings, as well.

She said since she started doing this, it has been well received at the Center and the centerpieces are a big hit at the dinner. She and her coworkers made 20 centerpieces and some will be raffled off a prizes for the guests.

Peggy Brodeur, the director of the Senior Center, is thrilled with what Keller Williams Realty does for them. The centerpieces make the dinner beautiful and everyone loves them, she said.

“It’s been very helpful and very cheerful,” Brodeur said. “Roxanne has done a good job of bringing her people in to make the lovely arrangements.”
