STAFFORD - Don Finelli, founder of JDM Andrews Construction company passed today at age 71. Don was a extremely involved in the Stafford and Long Beach Island community.
Don had a great faith and devotion towards his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, especially in the last twenty years of his life. God put a fire in his soul for ministering to others.
As successful as he was a businessman, as he grew older, he found and experienced the deeper blessing of walking with Jesus. He loved the Lord with all his heart, soul, mind and strength.
Don was a great husband, father and grandfather.
Mr. Finelli also studied for Christian ministry and served in leadership at a number of area churches. He had a great impact on many lives because of his devotion to Christ. He was a mentor to many in business. He mentored many men in succeeding in the Christian life. Don was extremely benevolent and kind.
A visitation will take place on Friday at 10 a.m. at the Manahawkin Baptist with a service at 11 a.m. at the church.
His obituary is from Shinn Funeral Home and reads as follows:
"Donald A. Finelli, 71, of Barnegat, NJ passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 2, 2019. Donald is survived by his beloved wife, Karen, his loving children, Jennifer DeFilippis (Randy), David Finelli (Laurie), Andrew Finelli (Cindy) and Mary Finelli (Angela) and his 21 cherished grandchildren. He is also survived by his adoring sisters, Roseann Fortino, Connie Massini and Joan Kuglin and his step-children, Sarah Jackson, Alex Davis, Don Davis, Patrick Davis and Lillian Davis.
Don, along with his family, own and operate JDM Andrews Building in Surf City, NJ.
He was an avid pool player, he enjoyed his rounds of golf, and playing the drums with his band Timeless. When the need arose, he would step in to play the drums at church. He will always be remembered for his great sense of humor, not a day went by that he wasn’t making someone laugh.
He cherished the times spent with his family. His Christian faith was very important to him, as was becoming an ordained Pastor.
He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Calling hours will be Friday, July 5, 2015 from 10:00-11:00 at the Manahawkin Baptist Church, 400 Beach Ave., Manahawkin, NJ with a Service to follow at 11:00am. At the request of the family, burial will be private.
