HACKENSACK, NJ -- Chabad of Hackensack will host Dr. Moshe Avital, a Holocaust survivor, who will tell his story, “A Year After My Bar Mitzvah I Was Sent To Auschwitz -- A Tale of Fear, Survival, and Faith,” on January 27 at 7:30 p.m. for International Holocaust Remembrance Day.
As a young child of a family of 11, Avital lost close to 200 relatives during the Holocaust. He managed to survive, eventually immigrating to the U.S. where he started a new life. He also pursued his academic dreams, earning B.A. and M.S. in education, and a Ph.D. in Hebrew literature. He authored over a dozen books on various topics, but his most important goal is to share with the world what had happened.
Chabad of Hackensack is located at 280 Summit Avenue in Hackensack. Free. Donations are welcome. Go to ChabadHackensack.com/Remember for more information.
