MORRISTOWN, NJ - Loyola Jesuit Center, a sacred space for spiritual growth, prayer and reflection in Morristown will be hosting its 28th Annual Golf Outing in memory of Father Harvey Haberstroh, S.J. on Monday, September 30 at Spring Brook County Club in Morristown. This year Loyola will be honoring long-time Madison residentJames P. Penders. 

Penders has been a resident of Madison and parishioner at St. Vincent Martyr for fifty-eight years and has been going on retreats at Loyola Jesuit Center for over fifty years with the Morris County No.1 retreat group.  He will be recognized at the dinner following the golf outing for his faith, dedication and support of Loyola’s mission to provide one-of-a-kind retreat experiences and spiritually-enriching programs to the community.

“Jim lives a truly Christian life that is easy to honor,” said Renee Owens, Director of the Work, Loyola Jesuit Center.  “He has been married for more than sixty years to his lovely wife, Barbara.  He has five children and fifteen grandchildren.  He’s a real family man.  A twenty-year St. Vincent Martyr Parish Trustee, choir member, Parish Finance Committee member, Eagle Scout, business founder and more, Jim is a tireless and committed Catholic man.”
