WARETOWN, NJ - The reason for the upcoming season is not lost on one local church. On Sunday, December 1, 2019, Waretown United Methodist Church invites all to join in sharing in the traditions of the very first Christmas. A Live Nativity and Bonfire runs from 5 pm until 8 pm. The church is located at 27 Bryant Road.
It's a not to be missed experience that also features a dramatic performance of the birth of Jesus. In this case, it's not just actors and singers that take the stage for two separate show times. Live animals add to the authenticity of the cast. There is no charge to watch either show, scheduled for 5:30 pm and 6:30 pm. Visitors will enjoy the serene fireplace setting, while sipping on hot chocolate and nibbling on cookies.
Remarkably, the Waretown United Methodist Church is renowned throughout the country in its dedication to communication with the hearing impaired. ASL interpreters will be on site to make sure no one misses the beauty of the Christmas story.
In the meantime, cameras are welcome for this family friendly event. Children should help their parents put together lists as Santa and the Mrs. will be on hand. A pose by the beautifully decorated tree might even make for a great card worth sharing with others.
