SUMMIT, NJ - Congregation Beth Hatikvah (CBH) will host 'Purim Jersey Style', an original new musical Purim show for kids and adults featuring songs from Garden State's native son and daughter music icons, including Bruce Springsteen, Frank Sinatra, Whitney Houston and Bon Jovi.
The event also includes just the right amounts of silliness and laughs, along with a ridiculous villain. The parody features Summit residents Sarah Silverberg (as the spunky Vashti), Josh Silverberg, Ryder and Brett Manas-Levine, and Sam and Katherine Rubinshteyn along with Andy Kaplan, also of Summit, providing musical accompaniment.
The evening includes games, crafts, desserts and hamentaschen, plus the chance to win two tickets to see Billy Joel at Madison Square Garden!
The fun all takes place Saturday, March 23 at 7 p.m. All are welcome and costumes are optional. A $5 donation is requested at door.
Congregation Beth Hatikvah is located at 36 Chatham Road.
Also upcoming at CBH, is the 'Real' Story of Purim, with attendings listening to and discussing the Book of Esther with Rabbi Orden at the community Megillah Reading, Wednesday, March 20, beginning at 7:30 p.m.
