Congregation Beth Israel in Scotch Plains will hold an open house for prospective members on Sunday, June 13, from 11:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Prospective congregants will have the opportunity to tour the synagogue and its Religious School and to meet Congregation Beth Israel’s clergy, professional staff, lay leaders, and teachers.

The open house will take place during the Religious School’s end-of-year celebration, which will feature inflatable games and a video game truck for children of all ages. The event, which will be held outdoors, is free and open to the community.

“After an amazing school year, we are excited to gather together to celebrate everything that we as a Religious School and greater community accomplished,” said Aviva Tilles, Congregation Beth Israel’s Director of Congregational Learning.  “It’s an opportunity for us to take a deep collective breath and just enjoy spending some time with each other. We’re also excited to welcome potential new members and to introduce them to the students, families, teachers, and volunteers that make up our close-knit synagogue community.”

Congregation Beth Israel has been recognized as an ABLE Awarded Congregation by the Jewish Federation of Greater MetroWest for its commitment to inclusion and accommodation for all its members and guests.

“We are committed to inclusion at CBI. If you or your child have a challenge that makes Religious School and/or synagogue participation difficult, please contact us so that we can work with you to make the necessary accommodations," said Aviva.
