Middle School Softball Tryouts Take Place on Friday, Feb. 10

SCOTCH PLAINS/FANWOOD, NJ -- Middle School Softball tryouts take place on Friday, Feb. 10. Team will consist of 6th, 7th and 8th grade girls from our Middle Schools. The softball program is sponsored by the Scotch Plains PAL.

Boys Ice Hockey: Passaic Valley/Cedar Grove Falls to Brick Memorial 6-4

LITTLE FALLS, NJ - Passaic Valley/Cedar Grove lost to Brick 6-4 at Floyd Hall in Little Falls on Saturday.

Newton Wrestling Team Competes in Jack Welch Duals

NEWTON, NJ—The Newton High School Wrestling team competed in the Jack Welch Duals Friday and Saturday taking home two wins.

Newton competed against Collingswood, Egg Harbor, Moorestown, Buena, and Christian Brothers in the tournament.

Chatham Boys Basketball Bows to Delbarton for Second Time This Season

MORRISTOWN, NJ - The Chatham boys basketball team was limited to nine points in the second half on Monday night when Delbarton scored a 55-39 victory over the Cougars.

Wrestling: Cedar Grove Takes Second Place in Essex County Tourney, Clarizio is Three-Time Champ

WEST ORANGE, NJ - Cedar Grove High School Wrestling took second place at the 2017 Essex County Tournament in West Orange on Friday.  

The second place finish was the highest finish ever for a Cedar Grove wrestling team in the history of the Essex County Tournament.  The team scored a total of 166 points finishing behind only Seton Hall Prep who had 228 points.

Ice Hockey: Nutley Skates Past West Essex, 4-1

WEST ORANGE, NJ - Andrew Spitalnik scored two goals to lead Nutey to a 4-1 ice hockey victory over West Essex on Saturday.

West Essex (4-8-2) was held scoreless until the third period, when Patrick Coyle scored with an assist from Frank Ferrante. Coyle leads West Essex with six goals this season. Ferrante's seventh assist of the winter leads the Knights in that category.

MADISON, NJ - Last weekend, Gov. Livingston competed in the Cetrulo (Boys) and Santelli (Girls) fencing tournaments at Drew University.  The events, named after pioneers of NJ high school fencing, are single-day, statewide tournaments that last about nine hours. Each weapons squad fences multiple schools in a test of endurance and skill.
