CHATHAM, NJ - Tufts University first baseman Peter DeMaria, a freshman from Chatham, earned both all-conference first team honors and "Rookie of the Year" accolades by the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) it was announced on Wednesday.

Tufts won the 2019 NESCAC Tournament championship and DeMaria is the only freshman in the conference named to the all-conference first team. In naming DeMaria the NESCAC Rookie of the Year, it was noted that his total of 17 doubles leads the conference.

DeMaria enters the NCAA III tournament with 33 RBI, a .346 batting average, a .485 on-base percentage and a 543 slugging average.
