CHATHAM, NJ - If it's to benefit Chatham, Jeff Davis will be there to help.

Davis provided an added bonus to the $1.5 million renovation of Cougar Field on Friday with the unveiling of a new sign he built free of charge. The longtime owner of Specialized Auto Craft jumped into action, replacing the old sign that had a Cougar Paw, surrounded by some weeds.

Flowered landscaping and a new sign built by Davies, that can be viewed whether you are traveling East or West on Shunpike Road.

Davis, the Grand Marshal for the 2017 Chatham Fourth of July Parade, previously donated his time to hand paint the clock that stands in Reasoner Park

The Chatham football team got onto the turf for the first time Friday in preparation for the 2 p.m. season opener. It had been limited to the grass practice field before that.

The renovated field includes new bleachers, a press box and sound system, a new scoreboard (donated by the Chatham Athletic Boosters), and other upgrades yet to be completed.
