MADISON, NJ – The fourth-seeded Madison High School girls tennis team defeated fifth-seeded Parsippany, 4-1, in the quarterfinal round of the NJSIAA Northwest B
tournament on Tuesday, Oct. 27.

The bracket – featuring Group 2 schools – had quarterfinal matches on Wednesday. Madison will meet top-seeded Hanover Park in the semifinals. Hanover Park had a bye through to the semis. Sixth-seeded Parsippany Hills knocked off third-seeded Sussex, 5- 0, and second-seeded Sparta had a 5-0 win over seventh-seeded High Point. Par Hills and Sparta will meet in the other semifinal.

In Madison’s win on Tuesday, the Dodgers swept at singles and won at first doubles. At  first singles, Heather Yuen defeated Parsippany’s Purvi Ranade, 6-1, 6-4.
At second singles, Madison’s Marina Gobbi won a 6-0, 6-0 match, and the Dodgers’ Shea Baggett won a competitive match over Parsippany’s Saloni Shah, 7-6 (5), 6-4 at third singles.

In the first doubles match, the Madison duo of Carly Macrina and Jordan Hall defeated the Redhawks’ Pranati Katta and Tulsi Pipalia, 7-6 (3), 6-3.

At second doubles, Parsippany’s Nora Kosch and Celine Chen defeated Madison’s Isabelle Hunter and Emma Adamo, 6-4, 7-5.
