Jaren English, Ann Lehman and Latoya Pierce will represent St. Bonaventure University on the Atlantic 10 Conference Commission on Racial Equity, Diversity and Inclusion.
Duquesne University President Kenneth Gormley announced formation of the commission on Tuesday.
Gormley and La Salle Athletic Director Brian Baptiste will chair the commission, which will include three representatives from each member institution.
English, a member of the men’s basketball team, is a junior majoring in sports media. Lehman is the associate vice president for grants and research and also serves as chief of staff for the university president. Pierce s a visiting professor in counselor education and is the counselor education program director
“Social and racial unrest has had a profound impact on our country this summer, but in truth, the issues that cause this unrest have unfortunately been everpresent in our society,” Atlantic-10 Commissioner Bernadette V. McGlade said. “The commission provides an opportunity for the Atlantic 10 to unite our people and resources on each campus to effect change locally, regionally and nationally.”
