SCOTCH PLAINS, N.J. --  Isaiah Hill and Nahshon Battle each scored 20 points and Gio Phillip and Elijah Barlow had strong games to spark the Union Catholic boys basketball team to a 66-48 victory over Koinonia in the first round of the Union County Tournament on Friday night. 

Hill, a sophomore, had six rebounds and five assists to go with his career-high 20 points as the fifth-seeded Vikings (14-4) advanced to host the Westfield vs. Scotch Plains-Fanwood winner in the next round of the county tournament this Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. 

Battle drained five 3-pointers for Union Catholic, which used a 24-14 second quarter to take a 41-29 lead. Phillip had 10 points, nine steals, five assists and four rebounds for UC, and Barlow added 11 points.

The Vikings will be back in action on Sunday at 7:30 p.m. vs. Hunterdon Central in the Metro Classic Showcase at Kean University.
