ASBURY PARK, NJ -- TAP into TV spoke with André Joseph and Milan Lazistan, entrants in the 2019 Garden State Film Festival. The two collaborated on “Music at Midnight,” a music video Joseph directed based on a song and concept by Lazistan.

Lazistan, originally from North Plainfield, NJ, received an award for “Best Alternative Rock Song,” featured in the music video for his song, “How the Hell am I Getting Home?” at the festival’s annual awards banquet.

“This is our third year here and our third award,” said Lazistan. “It’s always a great time at the Garden State Film Festival.”

“Music at Midnight” tells the story of a husband who cheats on his wife and is eventually found out. “Even though there’s not any real dialogue in in the video,” said Joseph, “you still want to make sure visually that the story is told.”

And, Lazistan used his skills as a musician to tighten the edit. “There’s a part where the husband gets slapped, so I had that sync up with a snare drum hit,” he said.

“This is really impressive, with this venue and the same kind of love and support from this family of filmmakers,” said Joseph, speaking about this year’s GSFF. “It’s still one of the most legit festivals I’ve ever been to, so they do a fantastic job.”
