LITTLE FALLS, NJ -- TAPintoTV’s Executive Producer Brian Brodeur spoke with Catherine Rabidis, Independent Insurance & Financial Advisor, about the importance of advance planning to meet lifelong personal and financial goals.

The two spoke from East Main Media Studios’ facility in Little Falls, NJ, which has been recently reconfigured to accommodate safe and socially distant production in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Rabidis describes herself as a holistic advisor for financial products and services. “I make sure that you’re protected so that your financial house will stay sturdy,” she said. “Every chapter of your life has a different solution to it,” Rabidis added. “I bring all of those pieces together.” She offers life and disability insurance, and services such as retirement and extended care planning, all with a personalized approach.

When first starting to work with a client, Rabidis says she asks a lot of questions in order to both build a relationship and get a sense of personal and financial goals in order to customize a path forward. “Most people don’t have the resources to hit every single goal all at once, right away,” she said. “It’s a process.”

She’s also learned a lot about important decisions that people put off. “Most people spent more time planning their vacations than they do planning their retirement,” Rabidis said. “Retirement is the longest vacation you will ever take.” She works with clients to ensure that there is always money in retirement to supplement social security funds. She also stressed that most people will eventually need some form of extended care as they age. “If you want control over that, planning is key,” she said.

Her membership in the ABA (American Business Associates) has given her access to a range of experts that can also benefit her clients, and Rabidis will bring in outside resources, such as lawyers or a tax team, depending on a client’s individual needs.
