CLINTON, NJ – The First Annual Red Mill Retro Ride will be held May 19 and everyone is welcome to attend.
The ride encourages participants to use vintage/antique/retro bicycles and wear period outfits, but it is not required. Tune up your bike bell, shine up your shoes, dust off your basket, press your seersucker suit, and get ready for this jolly good ride back in time while you enjoy historic Clinton and the Red Mill.
A leisurely ride around town - with points designated for great photos - will begin and end at the Red Mill grounds. Bring a picnic basket and visit vendor booths that include vintage clothing, wares, bicycle needs, unique handcrafted items and more. Have a pro take a picture of you in your outfit with your treasured bicycle, meet other enthusiasts, listen to music, explore the town, and stick around for the end of day awards for a variety of cool categories.
Based loosely on London's Tweed Run, vintage bikes and period outfits are encouraged (though not required) and awards for a variety of categories will be given later in the day. After the bicycle ride, spread a blanket and open up your picnic basket ... relax on the Museum Village’s 10 acres along the South Branch of the Raritan River. Shop the unique vendors, listen to live music, and while away the time with your family and friends.
The event is a fundraiser for the non-profit Red Mill Museum Village and will be held rain or shine.
This is an unsupported ride on open roads and trail; riders 17 and younger must wear a helmet and be accompanied by an adult. All participants must have a waiver (included with registration).
