TAPintoTravels’ Area Teen Allison Ramage Off to England to Play Rugby

ROXBURY, NJ - A Roxbury High School student is one of ten young women in the nation selected to travel to England in March to train with British rugby experts.

The student, senior Allison ‘Alie’ Ramage, is the only player from the New York metropolitan area chosen for the trip, according to her mother, Diane Ramage. Allie was recently interviewed in New York City for the Rugby Wrap-Up show on the Fantasy Sports Network.

She was joined in the interview by rugby coach Pat Moroney to talk about winning the Friends of the British Council Premiership Rugby scholarships.

“The majority of players and coaches were selected from a series of rugby clinics across the east coast of America in the run-up to Newcastle Falcons clash with Saracens at the Talen Energy Stadium," according to Premiership Rugby. "In Those unable to attend were able to make their video submission for a scholarship place.”

In the interview, Alie talks about her try-out for the scholarship and being the only female represented.
