BAYONNE, NJ – The final portion of the NJ Turnpike Exit 14A construction project is slated to begin on Wednesday night at 8 p.m.
Weather permitting, work will continue for the next 15 nights to complete the project on the highway’s toll plaza and area roadways, according to a post on the city’s website.
Work is scheduled to start at 8 p.m. each night, with the exception of the fifth night, currently Sunday, which will begin at 7 p.m.
While construction is planned to end by 5 a.m. each morning, the city advises residents that “the possibility always exists that it may go later.”
According to the city’s plan, here are is the schedule for the first six nights of work:
Night 1- Paving of Turnpike Toll Plaza and the flyover ramp to Port Jersey Blvd. Milling of Route 440 south.
Night 2- Paving of Avenue E, north of roundabout. Milling of Route 440 north.
Night 3- Additional paving Toll Plaza, flyover ramp. Milling of Route 440 north.
Night 4- Additional paving flyover ramp. Milling of Pulaski St and Pt. Jersey Blvd.
Night 5- Complete milling and paving of 52nd Street and 53rd Street from Ave. E to Broadway.
Night 6- Complete milling and paving of Avenue E from 50th Street to north of roundabout.
Note- On night 6, Turnpike access leaving the City will only be available from Route 440, via 32nd Street. Traffic control will include signs, devices, and variable message boards.
