BARNEGAT, NJ - The Barnegat Township Committee meets this evening at 6:30 pm and residents have a few ways to tune in to see what's going on as far as town business.
Amid the pandemic, Barnegat officials elected to shut down in-person meetings and limit them to existing technology platforms. Locals who would prefer to watch the meeting from home can still access it on Comcast Government Access Channel 22. The other way to view the government body in action is via livestream at this link.
Residents who wish to be heard as the meeting progresses need to show up in person. Both television and livestream access only offer one way communication.
A copy of tonight's agenda can easily be accessed here. The first items on the agenda pertain to the appointment of Donna Manno as the Township's Municipal Clerk, and Andrea L. Christensen as Deputy Municipal Clerk. The promotions became available when Municipal Clerk Michele Rivers announced her retirement.
The Township Committee will conduct the second reading on two ordinances and vote on them this evening. One pertains to exceeding the Municipal Budget Appropriation limits and establishing a Cap Bank. The other amends the Land Use Chapter of the township code concerning "Stormwater Management Plans for Non-Pinelands Property."
Residents who decide to visit the meeting in person will be temperature checked at the door and are expected to wear masks. Seating has been arranged in accordance with social distancing requirements.
