PATERSON, NJ – Paterson Police continue to search for 13-year-old Angelina Larsen, who has been missing since Tuesday evening at 6:30 pm. Angelina is from Waretown and last contacted family members on Sunday.
When Angelina’s mother died in 2016, her older brother Alan and his then wife, Melissa stepped in to raise her. The struggles of losing her mom left a huge scar on the young girl and the couple sought out professional help. At the time of her disappearance, Angelina was in a youth treatment facility.
“She reached out to my daughter and some other local friends using social media on Sunday,” shared Melissa. “We believe she still has access to a computer, but no one has heard from her since then.”
Paterson Police took a trip to Waretown yesterday and interviewed the family to search for leads. They have received no information regarding the young teen’s destination.
Angelina has run away on other occasions – but has never been gone longer than 24 hours. Police have not issued an amber alert, which is a system traditionally reserved for abduction cases.
“The length of time she is gone and the area she was in add to our concerns,” Melissa admitted. “All of us, including Angelina’s siblings, are extremely concerned.”
Angelina is approximately 5’3” and 100 pounds; she has brown hair and hazel eyes. Anyone who hears from Angelina or sees her, should contact Paterson Police at 973 321-1111.
