Barbara was a well-known figure among the Long Beach Island community. She was the taxpayer association president in Barnegat Light, an organizer on key service boards in Ocean County, and she was a committed member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish as a parishioner as well as director of Parish Development.
Barbara was an executive professional in Manhattan for many years, including working for worked for Macy’s and Dignity-U-Wear. She also contributed to many humanitarian causes: Economic Empowerment, Human Rights, Children, Poverty Alleviation, Disaster and Humanitarian Relief, and Education, and Coastal Volunteers in Medicine.
On top of all her work and volunteering, Barbara was an avid poet. She published three books of her own poetry through the Fragile Twilight Press. Her work was also published in two anthologies.
Barbara leaves behind her loving sister, Linda, niece and nephew, Stephanie and Dan, and grand-niece, Gabriella. Her spirit will be missed, but she will always be behind the sun watching over.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Francis of Assisi Parish, 4700 Long Beach Blvd., Brant Beach NJ 08008.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, April 28, 2022 from 10am until her Mass of Christian Burial at 12 noon, from St. Francis of Assisi Church, 4700 Long Beach Blvd, Long Beach, NJ 08008.
