STAFFORD, NJ - The Perlmutter family who owns the Manahawkin ShopRite has announced on Friday, March 20 that they will dedicate certain checkout lines for high-risk and elderly ages 60 and over.

The Perlmutter family said in their announcement, "In order to meet needs of its communities, Perlmutter Family ShopRites has decided to dedicate specific checkout registers for high-risk & elderly customers, age 60 and over."

This new policy comes amid the COVID-19 crisis and social distancing. The elderly are at a higher risk for complications, so this allows them to separate themselves and take even more precautions if they must grocery shop, along with other high-risk shoppers.
