OCEAN COUNTY, NJ - According to the Ocean County Health Department, the number of confirmed coronavirus cases now exceeds 9,000, for a total of 9,003. Today, only 25 new positive test results came back throughout all the municipalities in Ocean County.

Barnegat is now at 253, which represents a slight increase over the weekend. Ocean Township (Waretown), has reports of 43 total confirmed cases. In Stafford, 242 people have tested positive for COVID-19. Lacey now has 221 positive test results. 

Countywide, 781 people have died from coronavirus complications. Eleven of the fatalities were Barnegat residents, less than five were from Ocean Township. In Stafford, 26 people died from the virus, with 11 from Lacey also included among the fatalities. Statewide, the death toll is now at 12,214.

According to New Jersey's COVID-19 dashboard, 1.740 patients in hospitals have tested positive for the potentially deadly disease. Of that number, 11.6 percent - or 361 individuals are on ventilators.
