OCEAN COUNTY, NJ – The numbers continue to rise daily as Governor Phil Murphy presents his daily report. In today’s briefing, he once again acknowledged the length of time it takes to report confirmed cases. Many that add to today’s report confirmed as positive for COVID-19 may have tested as much as ten days ago.

That said, Murphy announced there are 47,437 confirmed coronavirus cases throughout the state. Of the 1504 related deaths throughout the state, 101 self-reported their addresses as somewhere in Ocean County.

In Barnegat, there are now 74 positive test results, while Ocean Township (Waretown) has 12.  Ocean County as a whole now has 2846 confirmed positive COVID-19 test results.  At TAPintoBarnegat/Waretown, our intention is to update you with the numbers and the progression of the curve.  Today, we have added a new feature in sharing totals for the various municipalities throughout the county. Using the 2018 population numbers provided from the Ocean County website, we have computed the percentage of confirmed cases as they relate to individual towns.  Those numbers appear in the chart below:
