OCEAN COUNTY, NJ - For the second day in a row, the Ocean County Health Department reported less than 100 new confirmed coronavirus cases. The addition of 83 new positive test results brings the county's total to 7275. The death toll is now up to 516, with Lakewood and Brick suffering the most fatalities.
In Barnegat, there are two new confirmed cases for a total of 210. Previously, Barnegat Police Chief Keith Germain explained the doubling rate as a means of measuring the slow down of the spread of the disease. The positive test results are coming in much slower than when COVID-19 first hit the area.
No new confirmed cases have been reported for Ocean Township (Waretown) in the last six days. The community has maintained at 40 positive results. In Lacey, three new people came back as confirmed cases for a total of 183. Stafford had one additional positive result for a total of 193.
