OCEAN COUNTY, NJ - As each day passes, the number of confirmed coronavirus cases changes on every level. It is difficult to determine what each day's results represent. Are they from swabs done days or weeks before? The data proves challenging when it comes to analysis.
Statewide, the total number of individuals who tested positive for COVID-19 totaled 75,317 individuals. The ratio of positives to negatives, remains in the mid-forty percentile range. Of those confirmed cases, the Ocean County Health Department reports that 4,254 patients resided in Ocean County. This represents a substantial increase.
The state's death toll now exceeds 3,500 with 3,518 lives lost to a coronavirus-related illness. While residencies of three of the deceased remain under investigation, 185 reportedly came from an Ocean County municipality.
Barnegat continues to grow in the number of confirmed cases with 134 now positive. Ocean Township (Waretown) reports three cases. Lakewood now has over 1200 positive tests, and Toms River is in excess of 700.
