BARNEGAT, NJ - At the Barnegat Board of Education's January meeting, Board President Michael Hickey made a series of announcements. One included the district's intention to create a committee made up of local community members. Superintendent of Schools Brian Latwis hasn't wasted any time in keeping to that pledge.
This morning, Latwis sent out a letter to district parents inviting them to take part in the formation of a Citizens Advisory Committee. Those selected will be involved in multiple facets of the grade modeling transition.
Anyone interested has ten days to submit a letter of interest. Other members of the committee will include district administration and staff. Although it's optional, interested applicants may also attach their resumes when expressing their desire to become part of the process. All letters should be transmitted firstname.lastname@example.org by the March 13th deadline.
