BARNEGAT/OCEAN TOWNSHIP – When the Board of Education elections come up on November 5, 2019, Barnegat voters will have a choice from a slew of candidates for three open seats. Meanwhile, only Daniel Eberenz of Waretown is running for the lone available position in Ocean Township.
Current Barnegat Board of Education members Scott Sarno and Pete Toth are back on the ballot for another three-year term. Sarno is the current president of the Barnegat Board. The two have listed “Keeping Barnegat Great” as their campaign slogan.
In addition to Sarno and Toth, Wayne Eslinger also names “Keeping Barnegat Great” as his slogan.
Meanwhile, three candidates are running under the campaign slogan “A New Voice.” They are Richard Quelch, Robert Sawicki and Sean O’Brien.
Candidate George Fedorczyk, Jr. filed his petition with a campaign slogan of “Progress for Education.” D.D. Verdonlino’s campaign slogan is to “Make Education Great.”
Petitions for school board election candidates were due in yesterday. Amendments to defective petitions are due in by Thursday. Deadlines for objections to nomination petitions for school election candidates must be submitted by Friday, August 2, 2019.
