My name is Alfonso “Al” Cirulli and I am aa lifetime Republican, seeking reelection to a seat on the Barnegat Township Committee.  I was appointed to an unexpired term in December of 2015 and was subsequently voted in two three-year terms to serve our local government.

I place God, my family and country as the primary focuses in my life.  During my tenure with the Barnegat Township Committee, I was the Mayor in 2007, 2012, and 2019. I also served as the Deputy Mayor for five years, from 2008 until 2011, and again in 2018.

My service to the community has also included approximately eighteen years on the Barnegat Township Zoning and Planning Board, between the years 1983 and 2003.

I moved to Barnegat with my wife Jacquelyn 38 years ago from Union County, although I am originally from the Bronx.  Jacquelyn and I have been married for 46 years and have three grown children and five grandchildren.

My undergraduate degree is from Kean College in Industrial Studies.  I also have a Masters’ degree in Urban Education from Jersey City State College.  Most of my professional career has been dedicated to the education of junior high school and high school children.

My teaching career began at Hillside High School in 1979.  When we moved to this area, I taught for both the Pinelands Regional Board of Education and the Barnegat Township Board of Education.  I ultimately retired as an Assistant Principal at Pinelands Regional High School.

As an educator, I created learning experiences for my students that were impactful and delivered fundamental lessons for life. My goal was to provide them information that would help them overcome life’s challenges.

As a local government representative, I have a similar approach. I believe it is critical to keep constituents informed and pursue opportunities to make life better in our community.
