BARNEGAT, NJ - With restrictions still in place regarding indoor occupancy limits, Barnegat residents remain prohibited from attending the township committee in person. The Committee meets Thursday, June 4th at 10:00 am. Those wishing to comment on the agenda or other matters must submit their comments to by 8 am on June 4.  The  clerk has requested  the subject line in the comments are marked: "Public Comment June 4, 2020."  Names and addresses are also required for the record.

This month's agenda includes the second reading on the purchase of the building commonly referred to as the "old firehouse."  Ken Matthews's $56.5K bid came in as the highest, with assurances that he plans on keeping the building's historic integrity.

The Mayor and Township Committee member will also vote on the first reading of Ordinance 2020-8. This would amend and supplement the local township ordinance entitled ""Brush, Weeds, Obnoxious Growth" specifically Section 36.5 entitled "Penalty"

According to Township Administrator Martin Lisella, the change would mean a requisite fine of $500 for all found guilty under this section of the local ordinances.  The township committee will also vote on amending and supplementing the township ordinance that deals with Violations and Penalties associated with the Construction Codes Uniform.
