BARNEGAT, NJ – Those who travel on West Bay Avenue already know a portion of the county road was just repaved. The next phase of the project starts next week. It should be an overnight job.
“On the paving from 4th Street to Mirage, we did have some issues,” said Committeeman Al Bille. “The paving was done by county workers and the problem was with some manholes.”
Paving from 4th Street to Sandpiper will begin on October 10th and will most likely run through October 11th. “It will be night work and done by private contractors,” Bille said.
Sandpiper Road is the street that runs through the Heritage Bay development opposite the Acme Shopping Center. The route from 4th Street to Sandpiper includes a pass over the northbound entrance to the Garden State Parkway.
Bille alluded to the fact that there could be a traffic problem as a result. “That’s why they’re scheduled to do the work at night,” he continued.
