WARETOWN, NJ - The Township of Ocean Committee goes video again with its meeting tomorrow. Officials will gather from their own location to discuss municipality business at 10 am. Public comment will be accepted by email up until 4:30 pm today at Clerk@twpoceannj.gov.
The agenda for tomorrow includes a discussion regarding the cancellation or postponement of two popular township events. Both the Town Wide Yard Sale and Hooked on Fishing are currently scheduled for June 6th.
Clean Up Days are on the calendar for June 12 and June 13. According to the agenda, the Committee is considering putting a requirement in place for residents to stay in their vehicles. Only Department of Public Works employees would be outside.
The Committee is voting on the second reading of two ordinances for final approval. Ordinance 2020-3 would place a lien on vacant property if the owners failed to pay the registration fee mandated by the township. Ordinance 2020-4 amends an existing local law regarding copy fees.
Sidewalks and curbs are the subject of Ordinance 2020-05, which will be voted on for the first time at tomorrow's meeting. It includes notice requirements to premises owners who bear the responsibility for maintenance and repair. Failure to comply may result in the township performing services and the placement of liens.
There are a number of resolutions on the agenda, including some that are considered routine and part of the consent agenda.
