BARNEGAT, NJ - Earlier this week, residents of one Barnegat 55 community received a robocall from their association's management company. The Pheasant Run Board of Directors sensed that with stay at home orders, a great many had not seen a friendly face in some time. Even if meant a wave in passing, surely walking at a social distance would bring on some smiles.

At 2 pm today, a number of people did the Pine Oak loop from opposite directions. Even numbered homes were instructed to go one way, and odd another.  Although no one seemed to remember which way to head, it all worked out.

Walkers kept their social distance and had it measured out. A seated observer had a yard stick in hand.  A walker carried two for good measure. One of the group wore a mask for safety.

As they braved the chilly weather and scattered raindrops, one thing seemed certain.  This group of seniors understands social distancing - as well as the value of companionship.
