To the Editor:

The Barnegat mayor wrote a Letter to the Editor comparing the quantitative COVID-19 deaths with the choice of many women to legally end their pregnancies. I’d like to understand why an elected official would be so stupid as to compare a singular woman’s choice with the most insidious disease in our lifetime?

Clearly, the mayor was trying to inject his male ideology into this worldwide crisis.

I don’t know Novak has any daughters but I pray, if he does, that his daughters never have to make such an agonizing choice. I have daughters, and they have had to make such choices. Mr. Mayor, who the hell are you to decide for my / your daughters what to do with their bodies? It’s disgusting and very telling as to why you’re just a local politician!

The COVID-19 virus has hit the Mayor’s community very hard. If I was leading this community, I would be concentrating on all mitigation efforts, re-opening plans, senior mitigation, and all efforts to protect my health care workers, first responders, and my businesses.

I would not be focused on comparing this insidious disease with abortion.
