BARNEGAT, NJ – This year’s mild winter may have people wishing Barnegat’s Farmers Market was already open for business. However, local crops still need time to flourish. The good news is that the township has added more hours to this year’s farmers market.

“This summer, we’ve made a change,” announced Committeeman Al Bille. “We will have three farmers markets that start late in the afternoon, from 2 pm – 7 pm.”

Barnegat’s Farmers Market begins on June 18th and continues until October 29th, with regular hours on Thursdays from 10 am until 3 pm.  It’s a rain or shine chance to pick up fresh goods at the municipal parking lot, located at the corner of Route 9 and East Bay Avenue.

On July 9, August 6, and September 3, the market will open in a different spot for the later hours. Look for them near St. Mary and St. Paul Coptic Orthodox Church, located at 682 East Bay Avenue.

In past years, the market vendors have offered a fresh array of produce, herbs, and seasonal flowers. Additional offerings include homemade breads, pastas, and cheeses, as well as gourmet coffee and tea.
