To the Editor:

Gov.Murphy declared a statewide state of emergency in New Jersey beginning early Tuesday as Hurricane Isaias was expected to hit the region with powerful winds and heavy rainfall.  At approximately 1100 am the storm began and Tropical Storm Isaias unleashed tornadoes, dangerous winds, and rain.   When the sky cleared three hours later, many of us were without power.

Although I did not want to venture out, we had to go to a relative's home to remove a downed tree. I saw that the power was out from Waretown to Tuckerton.  At every intersection along RT 9, RT 72  there were local police and the Ocean County  Sheriffs' managing the traffic.  I saw an electric caravan staged along the Parkway and RT 9.

Electric slowly began to get energized once again and as I sit in my air-conditioned home secure and safe I wanted to say Thank You to all the OEM departments, and our police officers that ensured we were safe. All of you should be commended on a job well done.
