WARETOWN, NJ - For the third Friday in a row, the Ocean Township Police Department is hosting a pizza party. It was just a couple of weeks ago that the men and women in blue became hunger heroes. They dug into their own pockets to dole out what easily represents one of America's favorite Friday meals. Once again, Ocean Township residents just need to pull up behind the police headquarters between 5 pm and 7 pm to get their extra special delivery,
Tonight's pizza party comes with funding from multiple sources. When locals learned of the police department's efforts, residents dropped off unsolicited donations to the police department. One unique offering came from a photographer who took socially distanced memory photos for a discounted fee. The proceeds were turned over to increase the pizza order.
"We received donations from Spencer's Marina Inc, The Brunch Spot and The Ocean Township PTA," shared Ocean Township Police Chief Michel Rogalski. "We're also thankful to Villaggio Pizza and Il Casereccio" Family Pizzeria and Tavola Calda" for agreeing to fulfill this huge order again."
Ocean Township Police Department's pizza distribution puts new meaning into the concept of "protecting and serving." And, from all signs -- the community is quite thankful.
