STAFFORD — Route 539, north of Route 72 in Stafford has been closed for hours after a deadly truck and auto collision between Route 72 and Harry Wright Blvd according to the New Jersey News Netwrok. 

A dump truck and auto collided.  Police report that one person has died. The name of the victim has not been released.  The Asbury Park Press reported this afternoon that a female from Staten Island was killed as she drove head on into the dump truck around 6 a.m.  Witnesses report that she was traveling extremely fast passing other motorists northbound on the highway. The dump truck was driving south on Route 539.  

The car went into flames upon impact and the driver died upon impact.  The driver of the dump track had minor injuries.

The road has been closed all day due to the crash and the leakage of diesel oil on the roadway.  

The alternate route would to ride west on Route 72 to the 72/70 circle and take Route 70 north to reach the intersection of Route 70 and 539 to proceed northwest towards New Egypt and Trenton.

The road remains closed as of 5 p.m. Friday evening.
