BARNEGAT, NJ - Power outages within the township aren't exactly novel to the community this week. The latest comes as a result of a transformer fire at the end of Savannah Drive in Ocean Acres. Approximately 2100 customers are currently without power as a result.

“The fire started at 2:30 pm," shared Barnegat Fire Chief Bob Lilley. “A pole caught fire and knocked the transformer out."

Atlantic City Electric Company crews are already on the scene and securing the power grid. No word when power will be restored to the area.
