STAFFORD - Pastor Nathan Didlake announced on the Manahawkin Baptist Church Facebook page that the congregation has postponed services at the church.
The church is planning on offering their Sunday morning service online at their Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/groups/manahawkinbaptistchurch/
Pastor Didlake wrote in his letter to the congregation:
Last night, March 12, 2020, Gov. Phil Murphy issued a plea for assembling bodies to cease meeting to stop the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) so that we might "flatten the curve" of COVID-19's spread. Therefore, we are closing our on-site services until our elected officials give an all-clear. Furthermore, all other groups will be postponed until further notice, including Life Groups, MOPS, Youth Group, and other such groups.
This is difficult information to share, and the Elder Board did not make this decision lightly. There were many driving concerns behind the decision—the chief two being: 1) We wish to be submissive to our elected leadership, as unto the Lord; 2) A very large swath of our congregation falls within the most vulnerable to the disease categories.
