BELMONT, NC — It is hard to believe that this former Southern Regional volleyball star is now a senior in college. But former Ram standout Liam Maxwell recenlty broke the Belmont Abbey volleyball school record for kills in a match on January 11, 2020.
The record performance took place against nationally ranked Purdue University at Fort Wayne. Liam's fifth kill of the match moved him ahead of Nolan Albrecht for the top spot
with 1186 career kills. Ironically, Albrecht is Maxwell's coach at Belmont Abbey.
Maxwell begins his senior year as the active leader in all of NCAA Div. I-II in career kills. He currently has 1,193. He is third in the nation in kills per set for his career at 3.86. He ranks second in career aces with 118. Maxwell has been named to the pre-season "Karch Kiraly Watch List" as one of the nations most outstanding outside attackers for the third straight year..
