LAWRENCEVILLE - On Wednesday, March 11 the Special Olympics of New Jersey announced that the developing situation involving the Coronavirus and confirmed cases throughout New Jersey and the United States has caused the organization to suspend all activities for athletes until at least March 31, 2020. 

President and CEO Heather B. Anderson wrote:

"This was a very difficult decision, however, the safety, health, and well-being of our entire Special Olympics New Jersey community will always be our top priority.  Thank you for your patience and understanding as we continue to monitor this rapidly evolving situation. We will continue to assess the situation in collaboration with federal, state and local leadership to make the most well-informed decisions moving forward."
