40th Annual Festival Of Trees invites entries

Individuals, local and civic groups, clubs, businesses, Scout troops and others are welcome to design, decorate, and submit a tree for the month-long holiday display at the Somerset County Park Commission Environmental Education Center at 190 Lord Stirling Road in Basking Ridge. The exhibit will be open daily from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
 
Somerset County’s 40th annual Festival of Trees, will be on display from Saturday, Dec. 2. through Friday, Dec. 29. The center will be closed Dec. 24, 25 and 26. 
 
On Saturdays and Sundays, there will be live holiday music and the Snowflake Café will be open.
 
Applications are available by email at mjuhasz@scparks.org or surface mail to 190 Lord Stirling Road, Basking Ridge, NJ 07920. Deadline for entry is Wednesday, Nov. 15.
 
Both professional and amateur performers are also invited to participate. For information on volunteering, call the Environmental Education Center at 908-766-2489.
