Alex Petronella of Basking Ridge Wins New Jersey Association of Health Underwriters “Board of Directors” Award

Alex Petronella of Basking Ridge was named as a recipient of the New Jersey Association of Health Underwriters’ (NJAHU) Board of Directors Award for his work as deputy membership chair of the association.

“Alex has made a major impact on the association,” said NJAHU President Ross Honig. “The North chapter of NJAHU received a highest retention rate award and the NJAHU has been recognized by our national association as having a retention rate higher than the national average.  These fantastic achievements are due to Alex’s hard work in the area of membership.”

Petronella, of Basking Ridge, said the achievement would not be possible without all the hard-working members who volunteer their time to serve on the membership committees of each NJAHU chapter.  He is proud of his involvement in membership and is excited by the prospects of continuing to help grow the NJAHU.

Petronella has held the positions of North Chapter membership chair, vice president, president elect, and will serve as president this year along with his position as deputy membership chair.  “I want to help attract new members, engage current members and encourage people to attend our valuable events.  NJAHU can play such a vital role in explaining that evaluating, procuring and servicing health insurance is much harder than some think, and that we can play a critical part in helping to get it all straightened out. I am happy to lead along with our membership chair, Joe Torella, and continue to achieve great results.”

Petronella is currently a principal at Blue Ocean Benefits and Consulting in Red Bank.

NJAHU represents licensed health insurance agents, brokers, consultants and benefit professionals in New Jersey who service the health insurance needs of large and small employers as well as individuals.
