Attention Basking Ridge Commuters: Buses Will Replace Trains between Summit and Gladstone Weekdays - July 6 to August 28

GLADSTONE BRANCH TRAIN LINE - New Jersey Transit issued an advisory message regarding a change to the Gladstone Branch weekday mid-day schedule between Gladstone and Summit Stations effective Monday, July 6, continuing through Friday, August 28.

The notice reads: Beginning Monday, July 6 and continuing weekdays through Friday, August 28 from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., buses will replace midday Gladstone Branch trains between Gladstone and Summit stations. Normal rail service will continue to operate between Summit and Hoboken stations during these hours.

The last train from Gladstone before busing begins is Train 416 (departs 7:53 a.m.) 

The last train from Bernardsville before busing begins is Train 480 (departs 8:55 a.m.)

Service resumes from Gladstone with Train 430 (departs 3:41 p.m.)

Eastbound trains replaced by buses include:

Train 418 (the 9:56 a.m. from Gladstone)

Train 420 (the 10:53 a.m. from Gladstone)

Train 422 (the 11:53 a.m. from Gladstone)

Train 424 (the 12:53 p.m. from Gladstone)

Train 426 (the 1:53 p.m. from Gladstone)

Train 428 (the 2:55 p.m. from Gladstone)

Westbound

The last train to Gladstone before busing begins is Train 409 (departs 7:54 a.m.).

Service resumes west of Summit with Train 423 (departs Hoboken 2:40 p.m.).

Westbound trains replaced by buses include:

Train 411 (the 8:54 a.m. from Hoboken)

Train 413 (the 9:36 a.m. from Hoboken)

Train 415 (the 10:36 a.m. from Hoboken)

Train 417 (the 11:36 a.m. from Hoboken)

Train 419 (the 12:36 p.m. from Hoboken)

Train 421 (the 1:39 p.m. from Hoboken)

NJ Transit also noted that weekend busing will continue during this same period through mid-fall.

Customers should check station PID posters and new timetables (dated May 17, 2015 – REVISED July 6, 2015) as well the trip planner and station-to-station features on njtransit.com for details.
