BUDD LAKE, NJ - The Ridge 12U baseball team completed the pool play portion of its schedule in the Mid-Atlantic Tournament this week, and the Red Devils have qualified for the tournament round.

Although Ridge won just one of its four games in pool play, the Red Devils qualified on the basis of the runs allowed tiebreaker. They will play Mt. Laurel of South Jersey in an elimination game at 9 a.m. Saturday. If Ridge wins, the Red Devils will play top-seeded Prince George's County of Maryland at noon.

Ridge lost, 4-0, to Cedar Cliff of Pennsylvania on Wednesday. Ridge defeated Bear (Del.), 9-3, on Thursday morning, then lost to Kingston, N .Y., 9-4, in the afternoon. On Friday, Ridge lost, 8-1, to Prince George's County. But the Red Devils allowed five fewer cumulative runs than another team that also went 1-3, and were awarded the third spot from their pool.
