PISCATAWAY, NJ — The Ridge baseball team opened play in the statewide Last Dance Tournament with an 8-3 victory over Piscataway Tuesday at Columbus Park.

The Red Devils had initially been placed in the TD Bank Park Region, but were shifted into the Piscataway Region due to a conflict with Ridge High School's in-person graduation ceremony set for Wednesday during the day.

Chris Parker led a quartet of Red Devils pitchers who combined to defeat Piscataway. Kyle Somelofske started the game, Parker came on to throw four shutdown innings, Owen Walker relieved him and Brendan Bell closed the game out.

Ridge will play at Piscataway's Columbus Park again Wednesday at 5 p.m. against either Watchung Hills or Franklin.
