FLEMINGTON, NJ - The Ridge baseball team waited an extra five days to open its season. Then the Red Devils' bats made up for lost time.

Ridge exploded for 22 hits and defeated Franklin, 25-1, in the season opener Thursday night in frigid conditions at Diamond Nation.

Anthony Roti led the onslaught with four hits in four at-bats, driving in three runs and scoring two. Ryan Gogerty went 3-for-3 with three runs scored and an RBI. Andrew Lusardi scored four runs, knocked in two and went 2-for-2. And Sean Spina was 2-for-4 with three runs scored and two RBI.

Senior right-hander James Crowley pitched four innings, allowed one hit, one walk and an unearned run and struck out seven for Ridge. The game was halted by the mercy rule after five innings.
